Scott "CAT" Stevens
Chief Information Officer
Mr. Scott Stevens is the Chief Information Officer of the Nebraska Defense Research Corporation at the University of Nebraska, a non-profit affiliate company of the University of Nebraska, which promotes, encourages, and assists academic innovation and discovery and is designed to identify, evaluate, and assist innovation and technology transfer in support of U.S. national security objectives.
At NDRC, Mr. Stevens leads enterprise IT operations, cybersecurity, and programs supporting the mission and strategic objectives of NDRC and the Nuclear Enterprise Center (NEC). His responsibilities include overseeing secure multi-enclave environments, enterprise network architecture, multi-level security (MLS) systems, cybersecurity compliance, and strategic technology integration efforts, accelerating defense innovation and delivering mission-relevant capabilities to the warfighter.
His portfolio includes:
- Secure multi-enclave environments, enterprise network architecture, multi-level security (MLS) systems, Enterprise program, contract, infrastructure, and operational leadership
- Oversight of Network Engineering and Architecture, Programs and Project Management, and IT Systems Support
- Budget planning, forecasting, compliance reporting, and contract execution
- Classified and unclassified infrastructure modernization, including multilevel security capabilities
- Cybersecurity, enterprise IT, communications, and mission-support operations
Prior to joining NDRC, Mr. Stevens served in senior leadership roles across the United States Air Force, General Dynamics Mission Systems, and General Dynamics Information Technology, leading enterprise modernization, cybersecurity, multi-level security (MLS), and large-scale infrastructure initiatives supporting Combatant Commands, the U.S. Space Force, and Air Force Global Strike Command.
Commissioned through Air Force ROTC in 1995, Stevens is a Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He previously served in senior Air Force command, CIO, CISO, communications, cyber, and mission support roles, including leadership of organizations up to 1,100 personnel and oversight of major infrastructure, communications, and capital asset portfolios.
His leadership assignments included group, squadron, installation, safety, joint staff, and Major Command positions, culminating as Deputy Commander of the 55th Communications Group at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska.
Mr. Stevens and his wife, Krista, reside in Papillion, NE.
